ABOUT THE GIBSON

Sporting clubs have a rich history in Australia, and none more than in Queensland, where we are proud to punch above our weight in competitive and community spirit. As one of the BRC Community Venues, BRC are proud to give back to local communities by contributing over 10% of our profits to support local initiatives and organisations.

In Australia, most sports didn't start in clubs, they started in streets, backyards and parks, just like our Gibson Park. A patch of green where friends could engage in the spirit of friendly competition.

As the love for play in our great country swelled, so did the ambition of those to make it accessible to everyone and the clubs we enjoy today were born.

Sports now play an even more central role in our lives, keeping us active, bringing new and old friends together and uniting all Australians when we take on the world.

While we celebrate the community of sport, we should never forget its humble beginnings. And, we breathe new life into this great club, it wouldn’t have existed without this patch of green being and made.
